BEST JUNIOR UNDER 16 PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2015/2016

BEST JUNIOR UNDER 16 PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2015/2016

Master Niel Lobo has been a student of Desert Cubs Cricket Academy for last 7 years. We have witnessed his passion, commitment and hard work towards this lovely game of Cricket throughout his cricketing career with us. He has been under the guidance of the coaches at DCCA and has grabbed maximum out of all his coaches.

At an early stage of his career he was a top order batsmen and a wicket keeper. However, when he was growing under the DCCA wing we found his talent towards Spin Bowling and made him a permanent off-spinner. Further he has been an intelligent and tactical captain throughout his cricketing career.

At present he is a prominent top order batsmen and a top class off-spin bowler. Moreover it’s commendable to mention about his fielding as he is fast, accurate and very flexible and can easily compete with any of the best fielders all around the world at his age group.

It was indeed an honour and glory for DCCA when Niel was selected as the ‘BEST JUNIOR UNDER 16 PLAYER OF THE YEAR’ in the 16th Shyam Bhatia Annual Awards – 2016 amongst all the Schools and Academies in Sharjah.    It was a great achievement by Niel and well deserved award for his commitment and hard work.

Niel has always been a role model for the younger cricketers and he has the potential and massive talent to become a future “CRICKET STAR”.

We at DCCA are proud of his achievements and wish Niel all the best in his future endeavours.

KYNA VEDHASINGHE SHINES IN DOHA REPRESENTING UAE FOR THE 6TH CONSECUTIVE TIME

Kyna, a product of Desert Cubs Cricket Academy was impressive with her talented batting skills this time during the tour in December 2015, especially when she was given an opportunity to open against the Oman team. She played a sparkling innings of 62 runs off 48 balls. This earned her the award for ‘Player of the Match’.

The highlight of the finals again, was exciting for UAE when they lost 5 wickets chasing a very small total of 47 runs in 20 overs. It was Kyna who managed to stick on and score the winning four for UAE.

Kyna is a growing youngster who has set her clear directions in playing the game of Cricket till she reaches the top and has been a keen follower of the game from the age of 11.

She has toured Australia, United Kingdom, Sri Lanka and Oman with Desert Cubs where she has enjoyed her Cricket in different conditions. She has also toured Kuwait (Twice), Thailand, Doha, and Oman with the UAE National Women’s Team.

Kyna is an all-rounder and she also earned the ‘Player of the Finals’ for the Dubai Cricket Council organized tournament which took place before the tour of Doha where she represented the ICC Team (Chief guest Mr. Farooq Amin).

“Desert Cubs is proud of your achievements Kyna!”
